...will be in the sun, and I was wondering? if it made sense to get it during the trip or right at the end. I'm assuming at the end since tattoos and sun dont get along. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice. Thanks.

I would get it right at the end, it's generally advised, and heard on Miami Ink that you shouldn't expose a tattoo to sunlight for 6 weeks. You need to give it a chance to heal properly. I don't know why, I always thought that maybe it could bleach the colour or something? But I heard it a few times from different people etc so I wouldn't risk it

I wouldn't even advise you getting a tattoo in the summer. I would wait until the winter when your tattoo is covered up more often. The sun can fade your tattoo easily and it's just a waste of money. Also, I wouldn't get a tattoo while you're on vacation somewhere because if the place offers free touch ups for you tattoo, you would have to travel pretty far to get it. You also won't know if you need touch ups until your tattoo is healed up. It's better to get the tattoo done in a place that you live near. You can always go back to them then.
