vacation but i cant use tampons? 10 POINTS!?

ok so in a week i am going on a cruise and i am afraid i will get my period while i am on the cruise. I am going with a friend too so thats a little worse. I can not use tampons and do not know what to do if i get it on there. i have tried before but i can not get the tampon in far enough. and when i try it i have to have lube and stuff to help put it in but i do not want to bring that and then spend like an hour in the bathroom trying to get it in. any suggestions on what to do? i cant get birth control so any other options?

Well, I would recommend just using pads. They are better for you...
But since you will probably be in your swimsuit, maybe just practice? Don't say you can't do it because it IS possible :)
You may know this already but the tampon doesn't have to go in that far. Just stick the tube in like half way and then push the end to make the other part slide in. Then take out the plastic part and the tampon will stay in place. Does that make sense?
There should be a considerable amount of string hanging out. And the actual tampon will be right at the opening of your you know what.
It may feel like its going to fall out but it just takes some getting use to.
 
there is no other way you can deal with it unless you use a tampon, or not go swimming, it sucks, i know, but what kind of tampon are you using? and what size? because i find that tampax campax lights, are really easy to get in. make sure you are doing all the steps right and try differant positions, lay on your back the first couple of times, squat put one leg up, and practice before the cruise. Anyways it may be painful the first couple times, but after a while, it will stop, it may be your hyman that hurts, just push it. My freind used to almost cry when putting her first about 10 tampons in, but she just kept doing it and she go used to it and now shes fine with them. So try the tampax lights, and try to get plastic they are easier. Good Luck :)
 
try the tampons with an APPLICATOR - tampax brand ??

they were the only brand of tampons I could ever manage to get in easily

otherwise take your pads with you as they will probably be very expensive to buy on the ship

can you ask your mum for help ? she would have had periods too
 
That's tough. I'm not sure if this will work if you can't use tampons, but try looking into the menstrual cup. It's a little rubber cup that you put inside and rinse it out after a certain amount of time. It sounds a little odd but I've heard rave reviews and maybe it would be more comfortable for you than a tampon. If not, it sounds like you might have to wear a pad, just buy some swim shorts to wear over your bathing suit bottom if you plan on wearing a suit (which I imagine is what you are worried about).
 
I had the same problem! Dont worry, it'll be okay! Just wear swim shorts over your bathing suit, and in your bathing suit wear an overnight pad. I know it sounds weird, but It works. It dosent comeoff, and it works in the pool and in the ocean.You will be fine, so enjoy your cruise!!=]
 
use some vaseline on the tip of the tampon and make sure it is pushed up to the "inside" of your Virginal opening. not just the lips but the actual vaginal opening - completly in - only the string should be felt.

only the string should protrude - have your mother help you - this is kinda a hands on affair.
