Vacation was approved in January. How can they change their minds now?

In January I booked a month off for vacation for this coming July. I was planning to go to the middle east. My vacation was approved! Last month I decided not to go to the Middle East due to the current situation, so I emailed my bosses and said that I would reduce my vacation to 3 weeks and I pushed it back 2 weeks because we just got really busy and I wanted extra time to get my work done. Now they're telling me "oh we don't know, we need to discuss it. Why do you need 3 weeks anyway we don't give anyone 3 weeks!" I'm really really pissed off. My vacation was approved back in January for one month... Can they really change their minds like that? I really need to start booking everything and now they're saying they don't know? What am I supposed to tell them? The real reason why I want that time off is because I've worked 5 years straight, I'm exhausted, I hate my job and I want to quit. So I thought taking a nice long vacation will keep me from wanting to quit to take a 3 or 4 month vacation! I also dont want to touch a computer i need a break from these damned machines!!

But I can't explain this to them! What am I supposed to say when they discuss it with me? I know I'm going to be mad and it'll be difficult to hide!

Maybe the person who approved your leave is a different one.. So point out that you are only modifying the leave from 4 to 3 weeks, and it was already approved in January. I think this is a miscommunicaton / disconnect. So just bring it to their attention, go to the HR office and discuss it. Happens in every company, people forget what they have already committed.
