Verizon Blackberry Flip-phone question anyone?

I'd like to know if there is a setting to turn off the "Blinking Green Light" on the Blackberry Flip-phone by Verizon. I've looked through all the settings and can't find it. What is that green light for anyways? Really wish I knew how to turn it off
