I was told by my local walmart that Verizon will be releasing their smartphone to the prepaid plans next month. I was just wondering if anyone else has heard this?
My only option is Verizon. No other service comes in where I live or I would already have a smartphone on one of the other prepaid plans. Also I am talking about the prepaid they offer at walmart with the $50 unlimited plan. Not the phones in the Verizon stores. Thanks though.

verizon already offers some prepaid smartphones.... but they are STILL very overpriced

if you want a prepaid smartphone with a resonable service rate, you need to go through a stand-alone prepaid company, like Boost, Straight Talk, or Virgin Mobile... all have a variety of smartphones and are about half what verizon offers for their prepaid smartphones.

I did read an article and in the article was a press release by Verizon. The press release stated that they PLANNED to gradually add prepaid smart phones to their prepaid plan. I honestly don't think it's coming as soon as a month, maybe 1 but not many. We will definitely see more by the end of the summer.
