Verizon Wireless LG Chocolate 2 coverage? Help pleasee!?

I want the Chocolate so bad.
But I live in Michigan where Alltel is the main cell phone carrier. I got one from Walmart for Christmas one year because the coverage map on verizonwireless.com showed it would work here.
And it never did so I had to get a new phone.
But now it's on Walmart again in the color I want, and according to the zip code the phone will work here. And the Verizon site still says it will work here too.
The first time I got it when it didn't work was over a year ago.
And I know they were working on that whole deal thing with Alltel.
So, if I get the Chocolate from Walmart[it says it will work here], so you think it will?

&the phone is prepaid if that helps.
My friend Taylor has the same one but I don't think it's prepaid and he got it in Pennsylvania when he was visiting his sister.

if you have verizon inpulse (prepaid) for only $20 a month you can get unlimited text,messaging,picture messaging,video messagining to anybody,any network,in the u.s.a.


Dial *611, select Additional Options, then select the option for calling plans and features and follow the prompts for changing optional features.
