Kobe Bryant has found himself in some hot water after cameras caught him using a gay slur at a ref on Tuesday night in a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. The phrase Kobe Bryant said is too blue to write here, but let’s just say Kobe Bryant called the ref a fvck!ng f@gg0t. Nice going, Kobester — as if NBA fans and society as a whole needed another reason to root against him.

After being called for a technical foul, Kobe Bryant was upset as he went to the bench. As you can see in the video below, he then tried to get the ref’s attention before unleashing the gay slur. The ref in question was Bennie Adams.
The NBA swiftly acted by fining Kobe Bryant $100,000. Personally, I don’t think that was enough. What the Black Mamba did was embarrassing to the league, the Lakers and everything connected to the game of basketball. A suspension would have sent a louder message.
Well, at least we can all hope the Lakers to lose in the 2011 NBA playoffs.
