It took more than four hours, 268 points and countless interruptions from a vocal New York crowd for Novak Djokovic to put away Rafael Nadal at the U.S. Open and make his claim to the greatest season in tennis history.
The match point wasn't as sublime as dozens of others during the match but that hardly matters to Djokovic, who won his fourth career Grand Slam title:
Djokovic received treatment for a back injury at the start of the fourth set. As he fell to the court in celebration and popped up to greet Nadal at the net, Novak felt no pain.
