hello, my name is jack. i was wondering whether any Vietnam War Veteran's could possibly answer some questions about themselves and the Vietnam war. It is for a History assignment and i would love to see some real veterans answer the questions for me. i know that in Australia they weren't treated very well after the war, but was this the same in other countries?
Here are the questions and if you don't feel comfortable answering them in this conversation, would you please add me and talk to me about them privately. Thanks.
1. Did you volunteer or were you conscripted?
2. Were you really aware about what was going on in Vietnam or were you just sent there?
3. What was your training like and did it really get you ready for the experiences ahead of you?
4. What was your role/duties overseas?
5. What did you think of the local people where you were fighting?
6. What was it like when you got back home?
7. In conclusion how do you view your experiences in Vietnam?
If you could possibly answer just some of those questions i would be VERYVERYVERY grateful.
and if i have said something disrespectful, please don't take it the wrong way, i am grateful that you have helped other people around the world live better lives with the risks you took.
Thank-you to any replier.
