I think I'll wait until they figure out how to grow some fat in with it.

I would definitely change over though, especially if it meant contributing (by buying) a product so it gets cheaper/easier to make, more in demand, and has the potential to feed starving people because you don't have to wait to grow an entire cow while injecting it with a million different chemicals. That and I guess it's good news for actual cows.

Is it though?
Would you rather exist for a couple of years and then be eaten or never exist at all?
It's an odd philosophical point.
Synthetic meat will just mean less cows get bred but the ones that do get bred will still be raised to be eaten.

There was a time, not too long ago, where eating meat everyday for every meal was COMMON food source..ie., Buffalo/Cattle in the ol "West"

Although eating meat is ok, because the population increases, the demand does...no matter how you cut and slice it...pun intended.

Demand is a want structured by one's own necessity (Likewise on the internet-computers-cell phones, etc)

It's that better to have loved and lost. Miserable as I am right now I wouldn't like to of not known a single one (I have to say that I'm friends with almost every ex partner going back to when I was 15 )

You're point being?

The demand for food increase, not necessarily the demand for meat per say. We could quite easily reduce our meat production and still increase our food production (or alternatively, if we have enough space, move away from factory farming; which would probably include some serious changes in the way we run food production with regards to the free market).

Necessity? Do you really think the Daily Mail newspaper is a necessity? Light up trainers? What about heroin?

Plenty of demand for heroin, but I wouldn't go calling it a necessity.

A better formulation of it would then be "is heroin a necessity for humans?" as in "if we didn't have recreational heroin use, would society die out?"

Therefore, get off the internet and this forum as it isn't a necessity for you..

There are a lot of things that people do, have, drink, or eat, that are not a necessity

Depends on what is considered as "food" in the culture/society/nation of people

The demand for meat, especially in a country which has it in the main staple diets of most of the population will never decrease. With every generation being fed it, the population grows-the demand along with it
