vw golf mk4 1.6 petrol, engine making funny noise?

im having a similar noise with my 1.4 but it might just be it needing its oil changed its due a service and the oil is burning off! but it sounds like a rocket i drive it and it sounds like i have a muffler on the exhaust its that loud when i take off!

hi i have a 1.6 petrol golf mk4, recently within the last few days iv noticed a sound coming from the engine when i drive, sounds like an ''aeroplane'' noise, only way i can describe it, only seems 2 happen when i accelerate..wen i take my foot off the accelerator the car drives normal with no noise.. any1 any ideas of wat it mite be? thanks
how wud u know it was driveshaft?
