yeah normally a sensor on something in the engine they break easily and make more of a scene than is necasarry the light rarely indicates that there is something wrong except that the sensor is broken maybe the water temp sensor as the heat could have caused the rubbers to perish, or the oil sensor there are so many on new cars that it can be hard to tell, best to have vw look at it but doubt its anything serious.
