Hi I'm 17 and Ive been working for a short while and recieved my W-2 form from my job so what I was wondering was can I file it by myself as a independent or no because I am under 18 or could I do it with my sis who's over 21? My mom said that I would get only 8 dollars or so back after filing but my W-2 form had over $100 It's not a big deal if that's all I get back but I wanted to know because it seems me that sucks and what's the point in filing it.
