hi, i am wanting to take my 2 year old to six flags in st.louis, mo. what kind of things do they have to do there for him? like what kind of rides ect. or should i go to silver dollar city ? im not sure where to go with him on a little vacation this summer.. ??p.s i also have a 15 year old son too.i want to take him somwhere he will have fun ? any suggestions. i live near st. louis, mo

I would suggest Silver Dollar City. But my choice may be a little biased considering my proximity to the attraction =PBoth attractions are great and their websites will give you an idea of what to expect for both of your kids. Living so close to Silver Dollar City, I've been there several times. It's a fun place for all ages. Check their websites for more info I guess.

I doubt very much if the two year old will remember the trip as a fun time for very long. Most like remember it was very scary. Leave the kid home with Grannie and go if you want to and don't use the kid as an excuse.

You pose an interesting problem. The 15 year old will love Six Flags but may think that Silver Dollar City is a little boring (but they have added a park in Branson that's mainly rides-Celebration City). The two year old wont find much to do at Six Flags but may have a little more fun at Silver Dollar City. At two, he wont be able to really do a whole lot at either park so I think I would cater the vacation to the older child. You might want to rethink going to either place since you will be pushing a toddler around in a stroller in very hot weather and you wont be able to do much to enjoy yourself either. Why not look for a place that is more all inclusive where your teen could swim or go boating or ride jet skis and you could let the younger one play in the water and still be able to go back to your lodging to take a nap. Consider some place like a cabin at Black River Lodge in Lesterville or Even a condo at the lake of the Ozarks. If you go to Branson, you can stay at a family friendly lodge and find things to do at the lake or in the various other places around town. There are lots of family friendly places to eat and play. My family has some big age gaps between children and this made for some very interesting and frustrating vacations. One place that we have had fun was renting a lodge room at Bennett Springs park in Lebannon. They have a pool, places to trout fish and great playgrounds for little ones. You can even take the short drive into town to go bowling, to the movies or to the ice cream parlor.

I think Six Flags would be a good choice. I loved going when I was little. Of course I don't remember when I was 2, but I can remember going when I was around 5/6. I couldn't ride the bigger rides but it was still a lot of fun. They have a Looney Toon area for kids with several rides:http://www.sixflags.com/stLouis/rides/KidsRides.aspxThey also have the water park with rides for older people and younger children. http://www.sixflags.com/stLouis/rideswaterpark/WaterParkList.aspx I think your 15 year old would definitely like it better than Silver Dollar City. If you live in St. Louis, Six Flags is a lot shorter drive than Silver Dollar City too, so I think it would be your best choice.

15 yo will love it, but 2 yo will just get to people watch......too young for a place like that,he would enjoy chuck e cheese just as much if not more

Six Flags is so expensive, and your little guy will probably get hot, tired, and cranky before you are ready to leave. My suggestion would be Raging Rivers, in Grafton IL, instead. You and he will love the Lazy River and Itty Bitty Surf City.
