Warmest nicest place to go in America this summer?

I'm hoping to go to America in September/October or in August if i can get a cheap deal. I'm looking to go somewhere rather hot and nice like quiet, places where you can go for nice long walks and go to the beach etc etc just like a quiet break. Oh and do y'all know any cheap flight & hotel websites that i can look for?Thanks xOOne last thing, don't just say " Calafornia " for example tell me where about in CA and why you think it's a good place for a vacation. I'm from the UK and will be travelling with 1 friend oh and i'm young but not really into clubs etc.
 
I would say Houston, Texas. Its great there. You have so many malls such as the Galleria, so much to see like the Rodeo and its sooo relaxing. If I had a chance to pick I would go there. Good Luck!
 
Go to Hawaii!!!! Hawaii is amazing there are so many things to do and its quiet and beautiful everywhere. There are water falls all over the place. Other places will be beautiful but crowded in the summer and the not so crowded places will not really offer any entertainment. There are different attractions on each island, helicoptor rides with the most amazing views, water falls that can only be reached by horseback, and the scuba diving is so amazing.Its way better than Florida which is crowded and way better than California which is very crowded and expensive.
 
The US has such a vast area to pick from each with it's own places of interest. Do you want a beach get-away, a mountain hike, a tourist hot spot, or museums? Do you enjoy thrill rides? I just entertained a friend from UK she was amazed at the differences from place to place. We are middle aged, but the shopping and rate exchange is on your side now. Almost any place with the exception of most northern states are hot in August and half of September. I'd recommend narrowing it down to a region then look at what each state in that area and decide from there. Also how much travel time are you looking at? Good luck and happy trails.
 
Very cool...im actually going to the UK sometime around the same time. Well my suggestion is Miami, Florida. If you are looking to see some of the states, hit NY city (august and sept should be warm enough), and of course I would be hung in my own state if I didnt say Dallas, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio Texas.Miami for the beaches, NYC for the culture, and anywhere in Texas for the Experience....Dallas more fashion, Austin more green city as well as college town and more liberal, Houston for um well, Houston, and San Antonio for History, Culture, Riverwalk.Galveston (Carnival Cruise lines 3 day cruises to Mexico for $299) and South Padre for Beaches (South Pardre has better beaches).Oh yeah, and Texas is cheap compared to East Coast (NYC and Miami). The dollar is also weak, so your money will go far here and you will be able to more with what you have.Either way, I have been all over the US and I love exploring my own country. SOuthwest florida...go to sarasota and drive south.....some nie small towns along I-75 after a 45 minute drive there. Englewood has Manasota beach..nice ansd warm and quiet..and walmart a few minutes away if you need sunblock/ lounge chairs and such. Happy Tanning !
 
If you're looking for hot, quieter (you won't find anyplace nice that's totally quiet in the summer!), has a nice beach and is good for walking...try St. Petersburg Beach/Clearwater Beach in Florida.Beautiful white sand beaches, not a crazy party scene but plenty to do, very little driving around required so you won't have that hassle (they have a trolley that runs up and down the street along the beach...check out St Johns Pass, a fun place to shop and eat), inexpensive hotels and great moderate/inexpensive restaurants,very laidback. My favorite place to stay is Pass-A-Grille Beach on the extreme south end of St Petersburg Beach. It's as far south as you can travel on the peninsula, and you feel like you're in another place because there are no highrise buildings or blocks of flashy neon signs...very old-style Florida. You can still catch the trolley there, and the beach is quiet...if you want non-quiet, just head north a few minutes.For hotels there, my favorite is the Inn on the Beach....it's literally a step from the beach and a very well maintained mid-price hotel. I included some other links as well, cheaper or more expensive places.For airfare, try Orbitz or Travelocity....however the best deals are usually found on the specific airline websites. Try USAir, Delta or American. Flying into Orlando will provide you with much lower fares. The airport in Orlando is on the southwest side of the city, closest to Tampa/St Pete, 90 minutes away. For an additional 30 minute distance, try Orlando-Sanford airport, on the northeast side of Orlando. Charter airlines from the UK fly there, with great rates. Car rental rates at either Orlando airport are about $150 USD per week. Try Hotwire.com for your rental car. Good luck and have fun!
