Was Abraham Lincoln a religious man? If so, who inspired him to be so religous?

Why do you ask? It depends on what you call "religious". From what I read he believed in God but didn't belong to any church, he was brought up a Baptist but had his own private beliefs. No I don't think that makes him religious in particular. Do you?

His mother was a praying woman, a strong Christian who walked by faith. By the way, a very good quote from him is in the Presidential prayer team prayer news today---will go get it:

No, he was not religous. It can be proven that he rarely ever went to church. The only scraps of his beliefs lies in the gettsyburg address where he refers to god a few times. So my guess is that he was a believer but not quite a church goer like most of americans today.
