When God's prophets made prophecies in the Bible, wouldn't it have been possible for the very people who heard the prophecy (concerning them) to thwart it, thus rendering it untrue?
For instance, it was prophesied in Jeremiah 34 that King Zedekiah would be captured by the king of Babylon and taken prisoner, and sure enough, this happened exactly as prophesied.
But what if Zedekiah had killed himself upon hearing the prophesy? Would this not have defeated the prophesy? Would it have been possible for someone to act contrary to or thwart a prophecy from God's prophets?
