...My Cousin Vinny etc.? Because I've seen fairly recent interviews of him and he doesn't have it. I hope he just gradually lost his accent over the years, otherwise I'd be bummed if it was fake. What do you guys think?
 
He was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York.

He attended Half Hollow Hills High School West in Melville New York.

Melville is a hamlet in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County on Long Island, New York.

He's basically a born and raised Long Islander.

So, yes, the accent is real

Actors learn to turn their native accents on and off, because not every character they play is going to come from New York or England or Australia. So, they need to be versatile
 
not sure were you are going with this question. he's an actor and had to play a part. it's called method acting.
