Is wayne newton a periwinkle?
oh alright, i knew you guys would know!

That was sung by Wayne Newton and no, he is not gay. He's quite married, in fact.

I don't think so....Wayne Newton is not gay! He was barely more than a kid when that song was made.

No... I have never heard Wayne Newton was homosexual. He was a product of that 1950's super duper over the top goody two shoes "Lassie" and "Ozzie and Harriet" mentality.
Wayne Newton started out with his brother as a duo. His brother played the rebel and Wayne played the wholesome role. When the duo split up Wayne was left in the sticky sweet good boy role all by himself. It seems the audience of that time wanted that persona out of him.and knowing a money making schtick when he saw one, he decided to leave well enough alone.
But I read in an interview he always hated playing that idiotic persona. His Vegas shows today are not sickeningly sweet - Thank god.
I remember him being quoted as saying he hated that Danke Scheon song with a passion
