Ways to vent negative emotions without causing myself harm?

I find art is the best way to get rid of unwanted emotions. Taking all that emotion and putting into something..like painting, drawing, making something, cooking, or you seemed to be fantastic at writing poetry! One of the main things is not trying to make the art from my emotions GOOD, but making them about how I feel at the moment.

Talking to a friend helps, venting and having them listen (I'm always here if you need me for that)

Or there is sports, running it off, punching something, dancing =)

..and there is always meditating and thinking about the negative feelings you have and why you are having them, but that takes a long time.

Write it all down, all the feelings and all the nasty words, all the hate, get it out. Then burn the paper with all your emotions on it, and give them back to the universe. The universe is such a huge place, that it can handle all your negative stuff.
Google "The Red String Book'. Simply read it, its short, and to the point. It is not a religion but a science.
Many years ago, I had had enough of my interfering mother, and all her blasted 'suggestions' about how I should run my life. I got to and made a scarecrow, went out a put her on the fire, as she was burning up, I told her exactly what I thought of her and I felt, by this time I was drunk, and having a pretty good time of it, I really gave it to her 'the mother-crow'. and you what? ever since that time, my mother and I have had a much better relationship. I do this a lot. However now I do write a lot of it down and simply burn it.
