We are born human beings some choose to be gay does it all boil down to human rights?

I believe in the arena of struggle against oppression that our choices do not have to be legistlated. We are born human and there are inalienable rights that go with that. Some choose to be gay that is a preference does anyone think that what we prefer should be put into law and labeled a right?
