We have a linksys wireless internet and have 1 laptop operating on it great (XP). Now we need to setup another laptop (Vista) and when we go to connect to that internet it says IP address conflict and says not connected properly and won't run the internet at all on the Vista Laptop but still on the XP Laptop? Help How do we put both laptops on this Network!! :o)

well there is a setting that u can have a limited amount of sources connected to your router. for instance my cousin set up his router so that only his desktop, his mothers laptop, and his ps3 can connect to it. so if anyone else comes by they cant connect to his router and he doesnt havta put a password on it. try that?

this is possible these machines are set to static ip address, to check this on xp, click start, control panel, network connections right click your wifi connection choose properties, double click internet protocol tcp/ip and make sure both are on automatic.
this should fix it.
