Mr Smith...thanks for that. We intentionally omitted upgrades since some of them would far outstrip the value of the bike- think an XTR rear derailleur on a Walmart bike or Dura Ace on a bike that started with Sora. Neither of these would make any sense nor increase the bike's value. Input appreciated!
 
I tried it, but i don't think it was very accurate. Hear are some helpful suggestions.

1)Ask what the bike was retailed at if it was new, not what you got it for. I got mine online for 450 bucks, but it was a sale on top of sale online with free shipping from a reputable dealer, and the bike was normal 1200 bucks.

2)Ask about upgrades. I have upgraded my fork, shock, grips, tires, and seat, and replaced the shifters with cheaper ones. The difference would be about 270 bucks more of worth on top of the retail.

3)This is a cool idea, so I'm glad that you are experimenting and asking for feedback.

My bike was valued for 118-227, but I would put it around 550, due to the two errors mentioned above. Good luck and thanks!
