Hi all!
I live in Broward County - Florida, and am on the hunt for a rustic, woodsy like venue or an old building with alot of character anywhere in Florida. I'm thinking something like a barn, ranch, an old school. I love, huge trees, and greenery. Exposed wood beams, wood floors. I'm not into the beach thing at all, or palm trees for that matter, but somehow those are unavoidable living in Florida and seem to be all that I find. I'm not into just a regular old reception hall or anything like that. Oh I almost forgot to mention that I am on a strict budget. I will have no more than 100 people at my wedding and have a budget of about $10,000. This is to cover the cost of ceremony and reception. Not my dress or accessories. And probably not all my decorations. I will be doing alot of the decorations myself leading up to my wedding scheduled April 14, 2012. I found this place called The Taproom at Dubsdread, which is a golf course in Orlando, and is very pretty. You can get married under this beautiful moss covered tree, and the private room for the reception has a fireplace and alot of exposed wood, which I love. I'm getting ready to schedule an appointment to view the facility, but was hoping I could find some other suggestions. I also found Heritage Village in Largo, Fl, which looked really cool. Also Dow Museum in St. Augustine, but the websited don't give a whole lot of info, you have to contact their caterer, which is what I will probably end up doing, but if anyone has any info on those properties as well that would be great.
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to give as much info as possible.
