Get a stick and jamb it on the petal and the seat slide the seat up accordingly. This will make up for the friends you don't have to step on the petal for you.
If one brake light is working the switch located near the brake petals shaft is not the problem. If you had a bad switch you would not be able to shift out of park if your car has an automatic transmission.
It's right behind the lever that the brake pedal attaches to. But that won't make only one bulb not work. Check and make sure you're getting power to the bulb in question, and if you are, check for a bad ground connection.
