4. I.N.R.I - Sarcofargo (1987)

Death Metal:
1. Symphonies Of Sickness - Carcass (1989)
2. Domination - Morbid Angel (1995)
3. Beyond The Gates - Posessed (1986)
4. Leprosy - Death (1988)

This is a really tough question because it would change depending on what the person listened to already and their age, etc. But a few good starters that cut through a bit of the early stuff and take you through the course that a significant group of well-rounded metalheads follow are:
Metallica- Master of Puppets ( an iconic classic that may already be familiar) Thrash, then on to
Death- Human (incredibly important album by a band that helped to launch a genre) Death, which brings you over to
Bathory- Blood Fire Death (another genre launching album with amazing composition) black, which for many, ( i Know this will seem weird, but without
Ensiferum- Iron Folk metal, a lot of folks don't realize the variety that metal has.)
Black and Death Metal only (I'Il just exclude those listed above already):
Obituary- Cause of Death
Morbid Angel- Altars of Madness
Cannibal Corpse- Eaten Back to Life
Death- Leprosy

Emperor-In the Nightside Eclipse
Bathory- The Return of the Darkness and Evil
Mayhem- De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Darkthrone- Transylvanian Hunger

I know I went for some super obvious metal albums, but for a newbie, you shouldn't just delve right into thedeeper recesses, you start from the famous ones that everyone knows and your path is determined from there.

1. Black Sabbath self-titled debut
2. "Master of Puppets" - Metallica
3. "Horror Show" - Iced Earth
4. "Relentless Retribution" - Death Angel

(Melodic) Death: "For Aeons Past" - Solution .45
Black: "Nocturnal March" - Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult

1. ''nightmare'' - avenged sevenfold
2. the ''black'' album - metallica
3. ''we stich these wound'' - black veil brides
4. ''korn: greatest hits vol. 1'' - korn

and i don't listen to deathmetal, but i probably would reccomend something by morbid angel
