What are good movies and their remakes?

For an english assignment I need to analyse two movies, a remake and an original and talk about their differences.

Note: I CANNOT do "The taking of palam 123", "Rear Window" and "Disturbia" or "War of the Worlds" as we looked at these in class.

However, I would like to do a movie where the remake has changed to suit the times. For example, in the remake of War of the Worlds, the kids go "OMG is it the terroists" because after 9/11 thats how people think. Are there any good movies with a strong difference of discourses, or context such as this?

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956 & 1978)
The Stepford Wives (1975 & 2004)
 
the taking of Pelham... -.- it's the town i grew up in. i'm offended
 
If you watch the The 300 Spartans (1962) and 300 (2006) theres so pretty big differences from the original which was more historically correct than to 300, which had more bedazzle/hollywood to it. 300 is more entertaining
