What are infinity fractals?

I would guess Marvel has taken the term and applied it to something else.

Fractals are those trippy pictures you see where the closer you look, the more the patterns repeat themselves on a smaller scale.

They are created by applying a non-linear, non-converging equation an infinite amount of iterations, and plotting the results.

My son is reading Marvel Comics Superhero Squad and it talks about the race for the infinity fractals. He asked me what this means and I have no idea! Thank you!

I guess either of those answers could be enough for your kid, if they understand either Marvel history or meta-quantumphysics.

If not:

Like the long-past "Infinity Gauntlet" and related stories, the fractals are obviously items of power. When one collects all of these items of power together (if they can), this would make them the most powerful being in the universe. Depending on who that is, it could be good news or bad news. Probably bad news, since only villains tend to go for ultimate power.

Tell him that. Then ask him if Mr. Fantastic could let him borrow an Ultimate Nullifier. ;)
