what are proper ways to greet people?

my younger brother just got his first job (hes 16). he works at a Friendly's resteraunt as a host. he has 2 greet ppl. he wants 2 kno how he would adress everyone...

how would he greet:

1) a man or group of men that are;
A) between the ages of 20 and 30
B) between the ages of 31 and 59
C) between the ages of 60 and older

2) a woman or group of women that are;
A) between the ages of 20 and 30
B) between the ages of 31 and 59
C) between the ages of 60 and older

3) a man and woman or a group of men and women that are;
A) between the ages of 20 and 30
B) between the ages of 31 and 59
C) between the ages of 60 and older

also how would you greet them if they had a child or children with them?

would it would be better to say (for example):
A) "hi everyone welcome 2 friendlys"
B) "hi welcome 2 friendlys"
C) "welcome to friendlys"
D) "good afternoon ma'am / sir welcome 2 friendlys"

does he even need 2 say hi or hello?
