What are some good books to read?

What are some books that you really like and would suggest to read? I prefer books that aren't young adult. I really liked girl with the dragon tattoo, the alchemist, memoirs of a geisha, eat, pray, love, currently reading Lolita....so if you have some suggestions I'd love to hear them! thanks!
