What are some great samples for a NY style rap beats?

I like the stuff done by LL Cool J (I Shot Ya, and 4, 3, 2, 1), Busta Rhymes (his older stuff like The Coming), and Jay-Z (Reasonable Doubt and The Black Album). I'm mainly looking for piano, string and horn parts, but other stuff would be much appreciated. I don't really listen to old music so any old songs or artists that you could suggest would be great.
