Interesting is relative. Controversial could be gun control. I am personally against it. Unless you want to really stir the pot, I would not give too much opinion, but rather stick to facts, no matter what side you are on. I did a speech a few years ago to a generally very liberal crowd. I stuck to facts supporting my position, gave credence to the other point of view, and sought to over come it. Once I was done, I expected to be slaughtered by the masses. While I got chills from some, I had several people come to me, shake my hand, and tell me that they respected what I said, but still felt differently, or that they had their eyes opened.
Make sure to provide very good and accurate sources that anyone can find. Do not give anyone a reason to refute you on facts. Bias and opinion you can only hope to sway.
