What are some interesting political topics?

So for my upcoming project in my playwriting class, we have to interview two or more real people to write a short play about using what they say, and what they talk about has to be political. It also has to be something that can connect to all the people interviewed.

I was wondering what are some interesting political topics that average people would know about, that are also entertaining to listen to if it was a play?

Also, if you want, add how many people you think I should interview for the topic.
