What are some must see places to visit when traveling the U.S.?

My husband and I are traveling from Florida to out west... we are huge Nature buffs and some things that we definitely have on our list are: The Redwoods, Yellowstone, Sunflower Fields (where is the best place to see these?), Whales in the Pacific... our options are wide open! Suggestions?!
