What are some tips on eating healthier?

I hurt my knee a little while ago so I can no longer play hockey till the summer.
There goes my physical activity..

I'm trying to go to the gym every second day but it's hard to find time.

And on top of all that I haven't been eating the best either so that really doesn't help..

What are some tips that can help me eat healthier?
 
The best thing that any person can do for themselves is to increase the intake of low density, high nutrient foods while reducing the intake of high density, low nutrient foods. Eating healthy doesn't have to be complicated. You don't have to have a PHD to understand that eating raw, whole fruits and vegetables will increase your overall health. Consider the amounts of fruits and vegetables in your diet. You should be eating more of these things then the high density stuff like meats, cheeses, pizza, greasy bar food, deep fried stuff, and fast food. Another tip is to achieve variety. Try a different fruit or vegetable every day. Don't get bored with the same old thing every day. There are many choices of healthy, good tasting fruits and vegetables. You'll also find that eating healthier can be a lot less expensive as well.
