Well my friend lives in TX, and our favorite band Heart is currently touring and will be performing in Austin this coming April. He's been bragging about seeing them once he got the tickets, and actually meeting them to get his portrait of them signed. On the other hand, if he did see them live but not meet them, it would give me more time to work on a fanletter I started, and he knew about the letter a long time ago because I offered to get one of his portraits signed, and I really want to do this for him. But because he says he might get to meet them threatens the point in sending my letter, and besides..I know fanletters have to meet certain standards, and I have been wanting to write to them for a very long time, but just never had the time to do so, just recently I've got to. I live in CA, so no I can't go to the show with him. :P

He told me most of the good seats have already been taken and that tickets are really expensive, but he still plans on getting them. He also said they are performing in a little theater, so he finds it a good 100% chance of personally meeting them, and what would be the point in sending my letter asking the autograph? NOTHING would beat meeting any band. the letter's hard to explain, but I have heard it's a hard process. But I wanted to ask for the autograph thru my letter as a gift, so this really is important to me.

So I'm curious to know what would his chances be of ACTUALLY meeting them? I asked around, and especially in this scenario, they say SLIM-TO-NONE...even with any other band. But I'm curious...I don't think he is getting VIP anyway, it would be even more expensive but worth it I guess. I hope I don't sound horrible, but I'm just curious.
*they are performing by themselves. no other band is with them until the summer.

I highly doubt he'll be anywhere near them. Unless they're performing at some small bar/club (which I assume they're not), they won't be "mingling" with the audience.

it heart isn't the headliner, they might be hanging around the merchandise while the headlining band is playing...
