well being gay is Ok in the catholicism but not gay acts.. I don't know about the difference jewish branches
well leviticus speaks about men not women..
 
From what I have heard from Jewish friends, they consider everyone to be a sinner and they don't consider homosexuality to be worse than adultery or many of the other sins that are committed by people daily. Don't know if that was just the friends that I have or if that is the general idea.
 
Orthodox Judaism is against homosexual acts, and there exists a program which is supposed to make gays straight (it's called JONAH or something like that).

Conservative Judaism is also against homosexual acts, but accepts gay people.

Reform and Reconstructionist Judaism fully accept gay people. The Reform and Reconstructionist movements both ordain gay men and lesbians.

Secular Humanistic Judaism fully accepts gay people as well.
 
The Catholic church does NOT approve of homosexuality , notice that we don't allow gay clergy or marriage. This may be because I'm a non-practicing heterosexual (priest), but I would think homosexual intercourse would count as an unclean act in Jewish customs , Leviticus and Deuteronomy both explain what is clean and what isn't. Since the fluid exchange would be considered unclean then I think Jews would frown apon homosexuality.

they're not so keen on it. Better stay away from religion altogether.
 
as their scriptures speak against it, i would have to take the guess that it is frowned upon...
 
Some denominations accept it (even allowing openly gay men to be rabbis) while others consider it an "abomination" to be abhored.

Pretty much the same as Christianity, but with less pork.
 
I wouldn't presume to speak for my Jewish friends, but Jews I know have much more religious tolerance than most Christians and don't understand the "abominations" of the old testament in the same was as Christians do.

I used to go to conservative churches that teach that abstinence crap, and I learned that the leaders of these churches actually crack jokes about 30 and 40 year-old virgins behind their backs. Now I just send my Christian friends to the site below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. It covers same-sex lifestyles too. I hope it helps you.
