What are the pros and cons of manual and automatic transmissions?

Auto - easier to drive. Easier to sell (or more people can buy them). You can lend it to family member in a pinch. Much easier to drive in traffic (VERY important in big cities).
Manual - harder to learn. But more fun for some people. A lot of hassle in traffic driving. The clutch wears out easily for new beginners. Makes you look like a hard core driver

I've owned 4 manuals, and 3 autos. I like them both.
