What are the rules for receiving the Eucharist for Christians who are not Catholic?

I have friends coming to Mass with me tonight who are Christian but not Catholic. Do Catholics give Communion to non-Catholics, or must you be Catholic to receive Catholic Communion?
 
No, I don't believe so. I believe you have to be a Catholic in order to take Holy Communion in a Catholic Church.
 
A non-catholic is not supposed to get communion from the Church. And, Catholics are not supposed to receive communion in other belief systems.

Communion is what it says...communion with the like minded. Its a community thing. Different belief systems are of different "communities".

(Eastern and Western Catholics can receive communion in each others services).
