What Bike To Buy After Passing Test?

I am 19 years old driving a yamaha ybr 125 on lplates atm, wish to go onto do my a2 restricted license but friends and family have said once i pass i should look at getting a restricted 600 , i quite like the GSXR 600 or the CBR 600RR i am quite a confident rider and i know i will have to have the machine restricted for two years any way but which one of the two is better and whats the differtneces between the two?

My advice to anybody's first bike is "If it has an R, dont buy it!" The reason I stick with this is that the additional speed and torque from these bikes will either A. Be too much and you'll hurt yourself. B. Spend way to much money on the bike and since it's your first, will likely ding up, scratch, drop, etc. and C. You'll be more prone to show off.

Of the two bikes, I would suggest the GSX suzuki over the yamaha, however. For looks, the GSX has a single headlight (cleaner look). And in a solid color looks deadly. The honda, on the other hand, everybody has one and they arent anything special.

But if you really want my advice I would point you toward the GSX650F, you wont have to restrict it, you'll save about $2.5k and you'll likely be less rambunktious with it. But in the end, it all depends on what you want.
