What can i do to catch his interest?

so i used to be really close with this guy,we were like bestfriends.we also had a thing for a little while.but in the past year,weve really grown apart.i havent seen him in a year,but we have texted and stuff occasionally.lately,he was acting really interested in me and asked if i wanted to hangout with him sometime.we were supposed to hangout last week,but he canceled because his family was going out on a boat,and his dad sprung it on him apparently.i got really upset though,cause he had already canceled with me twice because of work.i said a few things to him out of anger,that sound stupid now.like,i said that he had no time for me in his busy life and that i felt like i wasnt good enough for him and stuff.so the day after i said that stuff,i felt bad and i texted him and said i was sorry for getting mad at him and he didnt say anything.not sure why,cause hes never just not returned a text.i really wanna text him,but im not sure if i should.i want to make new plans with him,but i feel like i should wait for him to get back with me.i really want to text him,but i dont want to be pushing too hard or anything.i also feel like hes not as interested in talking to me as he used to be.he used to love talking to me,but now hes different.is there anything i can possibly do to catch his interest when im texting him,so he will want to hangout.

I'd forget about trying to make plans with him at this point; however, I would definitely text him to let him know about what was going on in my life. I suggest that you simply try to communicate on a regular basis and let the relationship go from there. Communication is the foundation of all relationships, so take plenty of time to text back and forth as your (and his) schedule allows.
