What can i do when my ex- husband verbally abuse me when he picks up his daughter?

My ex and i have gone on with our lives. We both live with our partners but i have a daughter with him. He barely calls, and comes to see her and when he does he curses at me. When i would call him in reference to his kid he gets so mad if i tell him that he needs to see and call his kid more often. My daughter is afraid of telling him how she feels because she says that she doesn't want him to get upset(sad). We don't have a judge order saying he has to see her, only a child support order.. What to do?
 
I wouldn't be telling him what he should or should not do anymore. He is an adult. If he doesn't want to see his daughter, than that is his choice....it will be his daughter that he will have to answer to in the end, right? I'd also be telling him to either respect you or don't bother talking to you....so you either hang up on him or walk away. You aren't his doormat anymore, are you?
