What can I tell future employers?

I was dismissed with notice from work about a month ago. This was for not phoning work when I was off sick on a number of occasions. Stupid of me, I know.

I have an interview later this week. When I applied for the job I was still working, so on the application form it looks like I am still working even though the situation has changed since then. The place I have an interview at is part of the UK Government and I am pretty sure they will ask my previous employer why I left when they request a reference.

I have totally learnt from my mistakes and I can guarantee fully that this will not happen again. Aside from what I did at my previous employment, I am a damn good solid worker.

What can I say in the interview?

Just tell them the truth, you were made redundant after completing the application following a period Of sickness that you are now over. I worked for the government before, they will judge you on your skill and ability to work, not your past illness. Good luck!!!
