What challenges does a stepfather face when marrying a woman with several children?

the relationship he has with those kids will be up to him. My stepfather was an azz. He totally made a difference between his kids and my brother and I.But then there is my uncle his stepkids love the ground he walks on and he loves them the same.So as long as he treats them nice he wont have any issues
 
Especially if he has no children of his own?

What challenges will he have to overcome?

Just curious - since I know someone faced with such a situation. Thanks!
 
that will be difficult. he will probably want his stepchildren to like him, but it is hard. he is not the real father.
 
he will have to face a whole bunch of children thats not his i guess. also the kids might not like him or want him with there mom. the kids might try to do anything in there power to break there stepfather and there mom up. wow 7 kids and a stepfather with no kids i would stay away but i guess if he truly love her then he would go for it being there for the children no matter. he will also face that"YOUR NOT MY DADDY" line getting involved with the kids like he is there father but they are gonna back him up. theres so many things he is gonna face. and if he have a kid with the wife the kids are gonna look at that kid as a outcaster because he or she doesnt have the same father as they do.
