Could it have a greater effect on this country?
Or a lesser?
For the record, I fuller support the libertarian party.

Mainly because it's more "conservative" the the republican party, lol.

The current violent swing toward an essential monarchy (political monopoly over all 3 branches of gov't) historically has led to popular unhappiness and distrust of the federal gov't. This is the best chance for Libertarians to rise up. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and Obama's future SCOTUS nominees are likely to try to **** up this country so badly and have no one to stop them. This will leave people clamoring for real change, not just change back to Republicans.

Ron Paul and Libertarians have been getting increasing numbers of votes. Once they're allowed into debates, it will help more. The internet has spread their popularity, as well.

If we can urge our friends to vote for what they believe in, instead of voting for the lesser of two evils or voting against someone, then our numbers will dramatically increase.
