What do Americans call jumper cables?

Weird question I know - am an Aussie and need to know the "translation".

In Australia jumper cables are the cables your run from one car to another to recharge the battery so the motor will kick over with a flat battery.

Is it the same name in the states?
 
ok jumper is to jump start,a quick start like a jump like a roo.cables is add ed to it.it s like someone asking hey can you boost my battery i forgot my roo cables.same thing.if i go to a auto Supply store and just ask for cables they ll ask well what kind battery cables or cable lines so on.your there standing no jumper cables.well you should of said that from the start.that's why we name it jumper cables
