what do I do my 98 Honda Civic is hopping?

My 98 Honda Civic EX appears to be getting stuck in gears between 30-40mph, it revs up to 3, and it never does that unless I'm accelerating to 70 or more, and it goes right back down, but now it stays stuck until I decelerate, and recelerate. Can someone tell ne whats wrong? Thanks so much!
 
it sounds like your automatic transmisson bands needs to be adjusted. there also may be an electronic problem with the rev sensor causing the transmission to misshift or not engage the gear totally.
