I have been researching a ton of horse care information sites and boarder websites, and they have been helpful. I have been horseback riding before, just never owned my own. I know that there is a bunch of work that goes into the care and up keep of a horse and it doesn't bother me at all. I have been researching the local stables around my home, I know where the local vet is, I know where to get grain, hay, salt blocks, etc. I also wanted to know what kind of horse you would recommend to a bigger girl. I weigh 280# but I plan on losing 30-40 by March, which would make me around 245#. What type of horse would be recommended for that weight range? What else does a person need for a horse? (minus the saddle, hoof pick, halter, saddle pad, bridle, and lead ropes and assuming the stalls provide pitch fork, water trough, feed trough and wheelbarrow)
I apologize for the long question, but I want to be prepared as much as possible.
Thank you so much for the help
