I've been researching USAF TACP and know that they can be part of an Army unit, such as Rangers. But, I don't understand if they do what the Rangers(just an example) do. Like, do they pretty much just act as infantry along with the Rangers? Or do they stay back and just call in the air support? Pardon if my question is somewhat confusing and hard to understand.
