For quite some time now, I've been having very frightening, violent, and gory dreams. It began with dreams about me finding large puddles of blood on the floor, and then discovering it was my blood, and that I was bleeding. While these dreams were kind of odd, and wasn't really scared as I've never been grossed-out by blood.
However, more recently, my dreams have become increasingly gory, and quite frightening. For instance, I've dreamt about me and my family being captured by people, and skinned, or cut up, or shot. I've dreamt that a woman forced me and my mother to eat a pie which was made of butchered members of our family; I've dreamt about being chased, caught, and killed or tortured.
Most of these dreams involve myself being harmed, except one, which plays out as if I was there. I dream that two men are having an affair with each other. I think they're in an army or something - I think they're Nazis - and they're found out. To spare his lover being tortured, one man shoots the other in the mouth, then the door to the room they're in opens, and the second man is torn apart by gunfire.
Why do I keep having these dreams? I don't watch many horror films; I've never personally experienced extreme violence. The only thing I can think of is that I have quite severe depression, and at times have thought I'm hearing voices.
Please can someone interpret my dreams for me?
